However, M.Tech is a technical course therefore the Supreme Court, University Grants Commission (UGC), and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) do not give permission to offer this course in distance/online/evening/part-time/WILP mode. There are only two modes to deliver this course i.e.M.Tech Regular and M.Tech in flexible shifts or M.tech for working professionals.

Course Duration of M.Tech for Working Professionals

The complete course duration is 2 or 2.5 years which is divided into 4 to 5 semesters of 6 months each. At the end of each semester end term examinations are conducted. One extra semester is added to give students more time to study and graduate.

  • A student must have completed their 10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) stream from a recognized board of education.

  • A student must have scored at least 50% qualification marks.
  • There is no age limit to apply for this course.
  • Some universities also conduct entrance exams and some universities directly take admission through GATE scores.
