The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a robotic mop and vacuum that's middle-of-the-road. It gives a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
During tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. However, unlike other models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the top-rated robots. It has a lot of features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment built into the base of charging. It can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automatic schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the push of one button. You can select a general clean that prioritizes cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal or go for two thorough maps of your area to ensure that your entire home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum performs well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some others do and can remove pet hair with ease. It has a difficult time with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however, iRobot says that future models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has flat-fronted D-shaped designs. The company hopes that this will allow it to be able to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of robovacs, but we found it to be only incrementally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating within your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to keep track of the arrangement of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to clean up your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on more expensive models. And its mopping system is better because its spinning pads scrub floors better than a vibrating pad.
The only issue is that it does not have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's a small cost to pay for if you want one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even at the highest dirt level.
For the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to remove hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping settings that it has, which are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or watch television without getting distracted. If it comes into contact with an object, such as a wall or piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and moves on.
What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and will automatically move garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.
You can also create or merge rooms to customize the way that Q Revo treats your home. This feature is helpful if you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or if you need to regularly remove clutter, such as clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets and hardwood floors on the first attempt. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you can wish for. It comes with a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has a self-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them clean and ready for use again. It also has a sensor that can detect obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.
The most significant improvement to the ECOVACS The X1 Deebot is the sleeker, modern design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet high and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the entire robot and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even when you're at home. It also has a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni is the top robot for mopping. Its mop pads rotating remove tough stains and its motor generates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent too, and it boosts suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does the job well. It comes with a huge, rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping mode of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a high-end model that has a range of features that aren't typically found on robots of this price. It can create detailed floor maps and detect different types of flooring. It's also among the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These are nice features but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This might make it more expensive than homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It's slim and tall and has a white-colored finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an impressive bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. Clicking it again will shut it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu located in the center of the control panel allows users to select cleaning options as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open the app's settings menu where you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map your home. This creates a detailed floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop with ease and avoid getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum and mop best vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles and obstacles, which is a wonderful feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of the debris we test on hard floors, and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. The mops also work well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as effective in removing sand from the floor, or Quaker oats on carpet.
